The research group Sport Psychology & Mental Support (SPMB) focuses on research, support provision and continued professional development in sport and performance psychology. Its main research topics are related to:
- the career development of talented, elite, Olympic, and retired elite athletes and of coaches
- athletes’ dual career (elite sport in combination with an academic or vocational career) and dual career support providers
- the development of psychological and psychosocial competences (skills, knowledge, attitude and experience) in young, talented and elite athletes, coaches, and dual career support providers.
Our research and applied support takes a whole-person approach to individuals and teams’ development and performance by taking into account the development, challenges and opportunities to grow and perform at the athletic level as well as educational/vocational, the psychological, psychosocial, and financial level.
